ERASURE
POETRY
S (FEELS LIKE SUNDAY ON MY TONGUE) (2022), dictionary pages, transparent paper, oil stick, paint pen, and wax on MDF panels
210 cm x 192 cm x 4 cm
In 2015 a coworker handed me a dictionary from 1977 that was going to be recycled and said, “I think you could make something with this.” This started an project of creating erasure poetry with its discolored pages. Redacted/Redicted involves creating encaustic panels for each letter of the alphabet and is ongoing.

S (Feels Like Sunday on my Tongue) is the first completed letter. The text and individual pages are collected in book form and can be viewed online.
